Baseball America’s Top 10 San Francisco Giants Prospects
As they do every year, Baseball America has released its San Francisco Giants’ top 10. Andrew Baggarly does an excellent job with these lists, and it’s also worth checking out highlights from his chat (if you don’t have a BA subscription). For reference, here’s my top ten, which is quite similar.

This little snippet: “solid first full campaign for Madison Bumgarner”. I’m not sure Baggarly is aware Bumgarner out-FIPed and out-WARed both Lincecum and Cain. The ERA was solid, but his overall performance was one of the best in the NL.
The only thing you can really question is a reliever like Hembree as high as 3. But hey, if he can replace Wilson and save the org some coin, that’s some serious value.
Yep. Hembree that high was just about the only thing I’d disagree with. I think I just systematically underrate relief prospects, but only because their ceilings are – what – 3 WAR?
